Set high on a cliff on the island of Samui, the resort’s entry affords views of the Gulf of Thailand and, directly below, a collection of villas and swimming pools built into the steep hillside. The narrow concrete roads that connect the arrival platform to the villas—and to the resort’s restaurants, spa, fitness center, and library—are navigated by young bellhops in electric golf carts. Accommodations Sixty-three villas, each of which features his-and-her dressing areas, a Jacuzzi, and a pool and hardwood deck. Recreation Spend a sunny afternoon at the property’s private beach, where butlers serve impromptu piña coladas. Dining Superb green and red curries and sunset views are afforded just up the hill at Lan Tania (Blue Palm).Worthy Diversion A 25-minute drive will bring you face-to-face with sharks, tropical fish, and Bengal tigers at the Samui Aquarium and Tiger Zoo. Also nearby is a butterfly garden in a Thai-style house. Rates A 2,400-square-foot, two-bedroom beach residence ranges from $3,300 in the low season to $3,500 in the high season.
