Four Seasons Resort, Maui at Wailea

Opened in 1990 as the first-ever Four Seasons resort, the Wailea continues to impress guests with its three championship golf courses, unsurpassed service, and detailed nuances (guests traveling with kids arrive in their rooms to find the children’s names spelled out with letter-shaped sponges in the bathtubs). Adults can find equally personal touches at the spa, where the more than 70 therapists are trained in Specialty healing techniques. Accommodations Recently refurbished, the resort’s guest rooms and suites feature lanais and large marble bathrooms. Dining A branch of Wolfgang Puck’s Spago serves contemporary Asian cuisine, and Duo serves steak and seafood. Worthy Diversion Several tour outfitters offer morning trips to the 10,000-foot summit of the Haleakala volcano.
