Four Seasons Resort, Punta Mita

From Punta Mita’s lobby, paths bordered by fragrant landscaping lead to a series of two- and three-story red-tile-roof buildings on the hillsides above the bay. Most of the rooms and suites inside the buildings offer ocean views and private balconies (several have hammocks and plunge pools), but for those requiring additional privacy, the resort recently opened three new villas and a five-bedroom home, the latter of which features a media room, fitness room, and spa. Accommodations Each of the 114 casita-style guest rooms includes a balcony, and the 26 suites have terraces or private plunge pools. The five-bedroom beachfront home has approximately 13,000 square feet of living space. Recreation A Jack Nicklaus–designed golf course featuring eight ocean-front holes. Dining Chef Hervé Fucho serves Asian-influenced Latin American cuisine at Aramara. Worthy Diversion Arrange for a driver and take a day trip to Jalisco’s tequila country, where you can tour the storied haciendas of Jose Cuervo, Herradura, and other distillers of the agave spirit. Rates Standard casitas with garden views begin at $375. The five-bedroom, beachfront home ranges from $8,750 (summer) to $16,650 (holidays).
