Grand Hotel a Villa Feltrinelli

Though sublime, the 17 intricately painted ceilings and frescoes of Villa Feltrinelli are overshadowed by the mesmerizing ambience of the grounds themselves. Towering 150-year-old magnolias display dinner-plate-size blossoms that perfume the air, and swallows perform their thrilling aerial ballet over the lake’s crystalline water, where schools of fish are visible from the docks. Accommodations The main villa houses 13 suites, and the property’s four guesthouses—Casa di Fiori, Casa Rustica, La Limonaia, and the Boat House—contain eight suites. Recreation Hiking, biking, sailing, windsurfing, and golfing (available nearby), as well as exploring the local villages and lakeside restaurants. Dining Chef Stefano Baiocco uses local ingredients (including a fish native only to Lake Garda) to create innovative regional dishes. Worthy Diversion Take a cruise on La Contessa, the villa’s 52.5-foot pleasure craft that was commissioned to resemble a 1920s-era American riverboat. Rates From $920 to $3,675 (April and October) and $1,290 to $4,200 (May through September).
