Hotel Kämp

Turn-of-the-20th-century Finnish composer Jean Sibelius is said to have seen music in shapes and colors. This may explain why, when he needed inspiration, Sibelius retired to the Hotel Kämp in Helsinki, Finland. The Kämp features candy-colored easy chairs and gleaming Corinthian columns in a two-tiered lobby with a marble mosaic floor. Equally welcoming, in fittingly Finnish style, is the greeting from the hotel’s staff. A 2005 survey earned the Kämp the highest ratings for customer service of any of Starwood Hotels & Resorts’ properties worldwide. Accommodations 179 recently refurbished rooms including all modern facilities, marble bathrooms, and in-room saunas. Facilities A complete wellness center, featuring a day spa, private gym, saunas, and massage treatment rooms. Dining Kamp Café and Bar open up to a terrace on the Esplanade on sunny days in spring and summer. Rates From $580 to about $4,510.
