Old Course Hotel

Each of the Old Course Hotel’s 35 suites affords views of the golf course, the ocean, and the town of St. Andrews, and some have balconies that are close enough to the 17th hole for guests to hear the distress calls of golfers who have run afoul of the infamous Road Hole bunker. Accommodations The 144 rooms include 35 suites, 19 of which feature interiors by Paris designer Jacques Garcia. Recreation The Kohler Waters Spa, which opened last year in a building adjacent to the hotel, features a 66-foot pool with a waterfall. Dining Contemporary cuisine at the Sands Restaurant, classic à la carte Dining at the Road Hole Grill, and afternoon tea in the glass-walled Conservatory, which faces the Old Course’s 17th fairway. Worthy Diversion Hire a sailboat and cross St. Andrews Bay to play Carnoustie, site of the 2007 British Open Championship. Rates From about $400 for a double room in winter to $1,600 for a deluxe suite in summer.
