Suvretta House

At the world’s oldest ski resort, Suvretta House, guests enjoy the conveniences of a private, no-wait ski lift and ski school. During the warmer months, grazing cows replace skiers on the Alpine slopes, and tennis and hiking resume their places in the leisure hierarchy. Complimentary summer access to all of the mountain railways in the Upper Engadine is included in a two-night stay. Accommodations Suites include the parquet-floored Privacy Suite 544, where you have a view to the north, but no one has a view of you. Recreation Ski, hike, lounge in the outdoor whirlpool and indoor pool, or practice your golf swing on the driving range. Dining Black ties and evening gowns are not uncommon in the Grand Restaurant, one of several fine options at the hotel. Worthy Diversion Every winter since 1907, Europeans have bundled up and headed to the frozen lake bed in St. Moritz for the White Turf, a series of Thoroughbred races atop the ice. Rates From $265 for a standard room in low winter season to $2,620 for a suite during the holidays. Summer range from $205 to $1,860. +41.818.36.36.36 www.suvrettahouse.ch/en" target=_blank>www.suvrettahouse.ch/en
