The Oberoi Udaivilas

A canopied boat ferries guests across the lake to the resort, which, in the style of a Rajasthani palace, features soaring pavilions, thick wooden and brass doors, and giant cupolas inlaid with lapis and gold. In addition to the spa, the four-year-old property includes a croquet lawn and a moat-like swimming pool. Several of the suites offer private pools, which serve as supreme spots for taking in the lake views and basking in the sun. Accommodations Each of the 86 rooms includes a walled courtyard, and several suites have private pools. The 2,560-square-foot Kohinoor Suite is attended by a butler and features two fireplaces, a sauna, a pool, and a relaxation pavilion. Recreation Yoga sessions and spa treatments at the Oberoi Spa by Banyan Tree. Dining Private dinners can be arranged on the Bhagwanti Royal Barge, a boat that cruises Lake Pichola. Worthy Diversion Explore the nearby City Palace, a 16th-century compound overlooking the lake. Rates From $600 to $3,300.
