Duckhorn 2006 The Discussion Red Napa Valley

    Beginning in 1976, Duckhorn Vineyards in St. Helena, Calif., established a tradition of using Merlot rather than Cabernet Sauvignon as the primary varietal in this blend, much as the right-bank chateaux do in Bordeaux. The 2006 vintage displays the seductive, tranquil softness of the Merlot along with notes of clove, allspice, blueberry, and loam.
