Billed as a state-of-the-art urban country club, Golf & Body NYC is a groundbreaking facility that offers golf aficionados a year-round, all-weather place to play. “I used to have to relearn golf every April,” says Tom Schiff, the owner and CEO. That all-too-familiar frustration inspired him to develop the 25,000-square-foot venture. The former commodities broker had already opened a modest but well-equipped facility on Long Island, but he wanted to expand and improve in the city.

The result is seven high-definition golf simulators loaded with 30 world-class courses. Each comes equipped with TrackMan golf radar and V1 Pro video-analysis software. (There are also three putting and chipping greens, plus a Polhemus motion-capture system.) More important is the trifecta of on-site services that will lead you to a much better game: swing coach, personal trainer, and physical therapist.

Schiff has brought on some of the sport’s top experts, including the swing coach Darrell Kestner (whose clients include Tom Nieporte and Jim McLean) and the athletic trainer Ben Shear (who has worked with Jason Day, Bo Van Pelt, and Luke Donald). “There are lot of social clubs and high-end gyms in Manhattan, but I don’t think there’s anything out there as big as our facility that takes those two things and adds in this high level of golf training,” says Golf & Body’s general manager, Jeannine Harrington.

Golf & Body NYC offers an expansive gym, massage and acupuncture services, and a full bar and casual dining. Harrington says members have already been taking full advantage of the venue’s entertainment services, and it is fast becoming a choice location for private parties and other events.

Membership costs $7,500 per year, with a $5,000 initiation fee. Services are priced à la carte on top of that. (212.244.2626, www.golfbodynyc.com)
