The Best of the Best 2003: Flight Services - Citation Shares

  • Fluto Shinzawa

While other fractional providers offer long-range business jets such as the Gulfstream V and Boeing Business Jet, CitationShares takes a different approach. Its business plan is built on the premise that the average business flight lasts less than two hours and carries three passengers.

CitationShares offers only smaller jets that can accommodate up to eight passengers: the CJ1, Bravo, and Excel. By offering only three models, CitationShares can include a large number of each plane in its fleet and accommodate more owners who are interested in shorter flights. Also, Cessna’s worldwide facilities can service any of the planes, which are built by the parent company. Prices start at $275,000 per one-sixteenth share, plus management and flight fees.
