The Best of the Best 2003: Pens - Omas Emozioni di Carnevale

One of Italy’s oldest and most respected pen companies pays homage to Venice with the $850 limited edition Omas Emozioni di Carnevale (the emotions of carnival). The clip represents the prow of a gondola, and its six ridges symbolize the city’s six districts. Omas will release only 1,458 pieces, a reference to the year 1458, when a decree forbade men from entering Vene-tian convents dressed as women to commit “multas inhonestates”—a once-common carnevale practice.
