The Best of the Best 2003: Resorts - Ocean Club

Maryann Hammers

Formerly a 1960s-era jet-setters’ resort, the Ocean Club on Paradise Island in the Bahamas has reclaimed its past glamour after a $100 million restoration effort. The reborn 106-room resort now includes the chic Dune Restaurant, which serves French-Asian fare; a scenic 18-hole golf course; and private Balinese spa villas with daybeds, water fountains, open-air gardens, private waterfall showers, and whirlpool baths for two.

The reclamation project also added 40 spacious rooms and 10 suites, and completely renovated the property’s existing rooms, suites, and cottages.
A fruit bowl, afternoon tea, and Champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries are delivered to your room daily. The pampering continues on the sand, with afternoon sorbet and Evian mistings. Should you de-sire more, your butler awaits your requests.
