The Best of the Best 2003: Undiscovered Bests - Maison Gerard

  • Adele Cygelman

Since 1974, Gerard Widdershoven has guided New Yorkers in their pursuit of Art Deco delights. He helped form the Walter Chrysler Jr. collection, and his gallery, Maison Gerard, is the Deco destination for interior designers such as Peter Marino and Thierry Despont and their private clients. From June 5 through 8, he will join other top dealers of 20th-century decorative arts in the second international XXème Siècle fair at Paris’ Carrousel du Louvre, where he plans on showing a magnificent circa 1938 André Arbus parchment daybed as well as a period watercolor that depicts the daybed with a side table and tapestry.
