2010 Luxury Preview: Safe Houses

In 2008 a London penthouse reportedly sold for $200 million—the highest price ever paid for a condo. The luxurious residence is one of 86 units in the One Hyde Park development in Knightsbridge. When construction ends in late 2010, this address will be among the most exclusive in the world.

Composed of four interconnected glass pavilions, One Hyde Park will incorporate such security measures as bulletproof windows, iris-scanning elevators, panic rooms, and—it is rumored—24-hour security by members of the United Kingdom Special Forces. Amenities provided in conjunction with the adjacent Mandarin Oriental Hotel will include a spa and fitness center.
