A More Personal Ski Experience

If you plan to hit the slopes this winter, Solaris Residences—a new, 79-home ski community in Vail, Colo.—is offering guests a pair of Folsom custom-made skis with one night’s stay. Each guest who books the Custom Ski Package (from $3,700) will be assigned a Solaris personal assistant, who will consult on ski preferences including stiffness, camber profile, shape, length, and graphics, at least one month in advance to ensure that the skis are ready upon arrival. The assistant also will take care of grocery shopping, make dinner reservations, arrange for an in-residence chef, and more during your stay.

Solaris Residences offers one- to four-bedroom homes for nightly rental (from $785 to $7,000) and up to six-bedroom penthouses for purchase (from $1.45 million to $19 million). The property has chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s eponymous restaurant Matsuhisa, a private spa, a gym, a movie theater with dinner and cocktail service, a bowling alley, a lounge, and an outdoor ice skating rink.
