An Exclusive African Tour, Accompanied by Jane Goodall

  • Christina Garofalo

Be one of just 20 guests to embark on a one-of-a-kind excursion through Ethiopia, Tanzania, and the Congo, featuring a private lecture with revered conservationist Jane Goodall and photography workshops. The 22-day safari (priced at approximately $60,000 per person) includes four- and five-star accommodations, flights within Africa—almost exclusively by private plane—and a donation to the Jane Goodall Institute.

Cocreated by African Travel Inc., a travel company that specializes in African safari tours, and TravelStore, which arranges custom travel experiences worldwide, the trip departs on July 8, beginning in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; followed by six nights in the rain forest and the river basin areas of Odzala-Kokoua National Park in the Congo. In Tanzania, visitors will tour one of the world’s largest game reserves, Selous Game Reserve, and Katavi National Park—one of the largest national parks in the country.

The highlight will be a luncheon led by Goodall, who will discuss her pioneering research in chimpanzee behavior and the relationship between humans and animals. Guests will then explore Gombe National Park—where Goodall conducted her famous research—and other remote areas of Tanzania. The trip also includes workshops on wildlife photography with photographer Joel Sartore, known for his Photo Ark project, which documents biodiversity through photographs of more than 1,800 different species.
