Sneak Peek: Azura at Quilalea Private Island

Private island retreat Azura is adding a second Mozambique retreat to its repertoire. After a six-month, $2.5 million renovation of the former Quilalea lodge, Azura at Quilalea Private Island opened November 1. Situated in a protected marine sanctuary in the Indian Ocean, the 86 pristine acres are about 932 miles north of Azura’s other property, Benguerra Island, and offer eight refurbished beachside villas and a new PADI-certified dive and water sports center. A ninth, cliff-top accommodation features a plunge pool and outdoor shower. Rates begin at $595 per person per night. (+27.767.050599, www.azura-retreats.com)
