The historic Café Royal reopened December 5 after a four-year renovation that infused a new contemporary spirit into the legendary landmark establishment. The hotel has 159 rooms, including six historic suites, and several locations for dining and drinks. It has restored the Grill and Domino rooms, once frequented by Oscar Wilde and Virginia Woolf, and opened the Ten Room, a brasserie-style eatery. The new Café serves cakes and pastries. The hotel also houses the Akasha Holistic Wellbeing Center, which has a lap pool, a hammam, a yoga studio, spa treatments, and an organic bar. Rooms start at about $715 per night.
