Sneak Peek: Palais Namaskar, Marrakech

Marrakech’s newest desert oasis, Palais Namaskar, opened April 6 as the prestigious Oetker Collection’s fifth resort and it’s first outside Europe. Carved stone lattice work and other Moorish and Andalusian touches decorate the 41 accommodations, including suites, villas, and four-bedroom palaces, many with private pools and Jacuzzis. The 12-acre Moroccan resort also features lush Balinese gardens complete with waterfalls and lakes. Activities include shopping in the popular Jemaa el-Fnaa market, a UNESCO World Heritage site in downtown Marrakech; hot-air ballooning in the Djebilet Hills; and riding camels, horses, quads, or mountain bikes in Morocco’s nearby Atlas Mountains. A custom-designed Dassault Falcon 900LX private jet is also available to take guests on the 30-minute jaunt to the city of Casablanca. Rates start at about $610 per night, including breakfast.
