After a three-year renovation, the historic Sofitel Legend Old Cataract Aswan resort, located on the banks of Egypt’s Nile River, reopened on October 1. The more than 100-year-old property now has 220 freshly appointed rooms and suites, divided into two sections: the Palace wing, which features garden views, and the Nilewing, which overlooks the Nile River. Rooms start at $280 per night. The resort has four restaurants, four bars, and a new spa with eight treatment rooms, a three-room hammam, and an indoor pool. (+20.97.231.6000, www.sofitel.com)
