Sneak Peek: Zero George, Charleston, S.C.

Jenna Hockema

Zero George is a charming new boutique hotel that opened in Charleston, S.C., last month. The hotel’s 18 rooms and suites occupy four beautifully restored residences in the city’s historic Ansonborough neighborhood, near restaurants, bars, shops, and a soon-to-open performing arts center. It maintains old-fashioned charm with its pinewood floors and restored millwork and details but is infused with modern amenities, such as marble bathrooms. Its cozy restaurant, Zero Café, serves breakfast and in the evening is open for wine tastings and canapés. Zero George has a garden courtyard; two parlor rooms that are available for private events; private sailing and cooking classes; and art and architecture tours. Room rates start at $295 per night.
