With the launch of this year’s Sojourn, the second in a trio of sister ships, the Yachts of Seabourn continues to expand its concept of intimacy and indulgence at sea, in direct contrast to the megaships of recent years. With only 225 suites—the majority with private balconies—the Sojourn’s capacity is limited to only 450 passengers, endowing the ship with the largest space-to-guest ratio in the industry and highly personalized service with nearly one staff member for every guest. The vessel’s small size endows it with a yacht-like sensibility and the ability to access off-the-beaten-path ports of call, while also providing extensive amenities including a range of dining venues and an enormous spa. Restaurants range from casual outdoor grills to an open-seating gourmet dining room with ever-changing menus designed by James Beard award–winning chef Charlie Parker. The ship’s spa spans two decks and includes six treatment rooms and a Spa Villa, a canopied space for couples with a bathtub for two and a private sunbathing balcony. At nearly 1,200 square feet, the two-bedroom, two-bath Grand Wintergarden Suite is the largest in the Seabourn line and features a glass-enclosed solarium with tub and daybed, a whirlpool, two bars, and two verandas. www.seabourn.com
