Thanksgiving at a Tuscan Retreat

The Castello di Vicarello, a 12th-century medieval castle in Italy’s Tuscany region that has been transformed into a seven-suite hotel, is offering its entire property for rent the week of November 21–28 at a special discounted rate. The guests are invited to experience Thanksgiving in Tuscany on Castello’s expansive 60 acres, which include organic vineyards, a farm-to-table restaurant, olive orchards, and an ayurvedic spa, sauna, and Turkish bath.

Owner Aurora Baccheschi Berti and her chefs will prepare rustic, seasonal cuisine in the open kitchen, using ingredients from the organic gardens, and pairing the meals with the estate’s award-winning wines. In preparation for the Thanksgiving meal, guests can go on an exclusive hunting excursion at the nearby Valle di Buriano estate, where they can hunt wild boar, quail, and partridge. The rate is approximately $36,355, a savings of more than $8,000 off the regular rate. (www.vicarello.it)
