The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach Celebrates Art Basel

Every December, the international art scene convenes in Miami for Art Basel Miami Beach, and the Ritz-Carlton, South Beach, a restored 1953 Morris Lapidus–designed landmark with its own $10 million art collection on display, has special offerings to celebrate the show. The hotel’s in-house art aficionado, known as the Art Basel Ambassador, is on hand to create personalized Art Basel itineraries that cater to guests’ specific interests and time constraints. The hotel is hosting its annual Masters’ Mystery Art Show (MMAS) on November 30 to raise money for the Florida International University master of fine arts program. The event presents 1,500 6x9-inch works of art by some 300 international artists who sign the back, thus keeping the artist’s name a secret until after the purchase. Each mini masterpiece is just $50.. The event is by invitation, but Ritz-Carlton is saving a limited number of spots for Robb Report readers, who can call 305.803.5505, or e-mail mmas@jejeconsulting.com.
