Tour Yellowstone This Winter

Yellowstone National Park is closed to cars in the winter, but guests at Spring Creek Ranch in Jackson Hole, Wyo.—about an hour and a half outside Yellowstone—will have the opportunity for a private tour this winter. For the first time, the resort’s naturalist will host wildlife safaris between December 18 and March 13, transporting the guests in a snow coach (designed to travel across rough terrain and snow).

Priced from $1,450 per person (for double occupancy), the safari includes two nights’ accommodations at Spring Creek Ranch and one night’s stay at the Snow Lodge in Yellowstone, transportation to and from the park, and all park and tour fees. Highlights of the tour will include the geysers—specifically Old Faithful—which have larger bursts in lower temperatures, in addition to Lewis Canyon, Yellowstone Lake, Mammoth Hot Springs, Lamar Valley, and more. Guests will also receive daily breakfast, lunch on tour, and a dinner at the resort’s restaurant. (800.443.6139, www.springcreekranch.com)
