Carl F. Bucherer’s Center of Attention

  • Laurie Kahle

The steel Manero CentralChrono ($7,100) by Carl F. Bucherer breaks from traditional chronograph design by using centrally mounted hands to track the elapsing minutes and seconds of the stopwatch function instead of typical sub-dial totalizers. The adaptation, a first for the brand, presents a highly legible chronograph with a clean and classic dial layout featuring a subsidiary seconds display at 3 o’clock, a date display at 6 o’clock, and a 24-hour totalizer at 9 o’clock. Powered by the CFB 1967 automatic caliber, the piece exudes handsome vintage character with laterally positioned pushers at 2 o’clock and 4 o’clock and your choice of a black or a silver dial embellished with arrow-shaped hour indexes and Super-LumiNova-coated, dauphine-style hour and minute hands.
