Monaco Hosts One-of-a-Kind Watch Auction

Christina Garofalo

Forty venerable watchmakers, including Harry Winston, Montblanc, Breguet, Van Cleef & Arpels, Chopard, and more, have each created a special timepiece for the fourth annual Only Watch charity auction at the Hotel Hermitage in Monaco on September 23. Prior to the auction, the Only Watch 2011 collection will be showcased on a tour to luxury watch collecting capitals, such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo, Los Angeles, New York, Milan, and Geneva (August 30 to September 17). The tour will close in Monaco with a three-day exhibition (September 21 to 23) at the Monaco Yacht Show.

The complete Only Watch 2011 collection will be sold by horological auction house Antiquorum Auctioneers, and the watches run the gamut from $8,000 to $600,000. All proceeds will be donated to research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy. (+41.22.909.28.54, www.onlywatch.com)
