Richard Mille’s Performance Watch

For performance-minded Richard Mille, the creation of an ideal golf watch was a matter of finding the right test pilot. And for sheer g-forces there was no better selection than PGA tour prodigy Bubba Watson, one of the most powerful long-ball hitters to emerge in recent years. The RM 038 ($525,000) was designed for lightness as well as the extreme shocks Watson can deliver through his wrists. The distinctive off-white treated case is machined from a magnesium-aluminium alloy, which together with the titanium movement generates immense weight savings. The effectiveness of the complex bridges and KIF shock-protection system will be put to the test by Watson, who has promised to wear the piece in tournament play.
