Tourbillon Messidor

Two years ago, Breguet began experimenting with watch designs of a more flamboyant nature than the classic cases, dials, and movements that have long characterized the brand. While the Tourbillon Messidor has many traditional Breguet design elements—like the Empire-style case and pomme hands—the open-works dial and transparent tourbillon carriage has much in common with pieces by smaller, independent brands. Some of our collectors took issue with this approach, citing the busyness of the dial, but nearly all appreciated the innovative tourbillon cage, which is suspended and rotated by two synthetic sapphire discs, much like a mystery clock.
