In 1998, the Kilpatrick Hills, Scotland–based distillery Auchentoshan, created its annual Auchentoshan Single Malt Lowland Scotch Whisky, Scotland’s only triple-distilled single-malt Scotch for more than a century. Over the past 13 years, the vintage has matured, and is finally being released this summer. A total of 750 bottles of the Auchentoshan 1998 Sherry Cask Matured Limited Edition are available for $80 a bottle.

Triple-distilled and matured in fino sherry barrels, the 1998 vintage has a medium-bodied spirit with a deep copper color. Its unique flavor combines sweet and creamy aromas, which complement Auchentoshan’s signature citrus taste. The spirit’s nose hits notes of butterscotch, honey, preserved orange peel, and toasted almond, with a slight green apple and blossom like finish. (www.auchentoshan.com)
