Robb Report Readers Are Wined and Dined in Paris by the Mandarin Oriental and Château Rauzan-Ségla

During a recent three-day visit to Paris, five Robb Report readers and their spouses attended the grand-opening ceremony for the city’s new Mandarin Oriental hotel and enjoyed a dinner hosted by Château Rauzan-Ségla, the Bordeaux wine estate owned by Chanel.

During the dinner, which was held on the readers’ first evening in the city, in a setting overlooking Place Vendôme, winery managing director John Kolasa guided guests through the wine selections, which included Château Rauzan-Ségla 1983 and 1999 and Ségla 2000. (The château celebrated its 350th anniversary last year, and to mark the occasion, Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld designed a special label depicting the winery for the 2009 vintage, which was released in 2011.)

The Mandarin Oriental gala took place at the hotel on the readers’ second night in Paris. An exclusive party for fewer than 300 guests, it featured a performance by violinist Vanessa-Mae.

On their final night in the city, the Robb Report readers, who stayed in the Mandarin Oriental’s premier suites during their visit, were treated to a cocktail reception, followed by a dinner prepared by the hotel’s culinary director, Michelin-starred chef Thierry Marx.
