Penned to Perfection

World-renowned knife maker William Henry is using his unique crafting techniques and materials in a pen collection. The limited-edition handmade pens are crafted in mokume gane, custom multilayered mosaic of Damascus steel, titanium, fossil ivories, and natural woods among other elements. Master craftsmen in the McMinnville, Oregon, studio design, shape, and polish each piece, then fit each roller-ball pen with silver or gold appointments. “We come from a tradition of craft excellence, and that’s consistent in everything we do,” says company principal Matt Conable. “The vision of this company, from its inception, was to build the finest tools possible.” The pens are priced from $700 to $1,500.  (503.434.9700, www.williamhenrystudio.com)
