America's Top Craft Breweries
America cannot compete with Europe’s rich beer-brewing history, which dates back hundreds, if not thousands, of years. But what this country lacks in lineage, it makes up for with both quality and quantity. Just two decades ago, not more than a few dozen high-quality artisan craft breweries were in operation in the Unites States. Today, there are hundreds of American brewers offering their own unique takes on Europe’s centuries-old beer styles, in addition to some of their own inventions. From the standard-issue ales and lagers to a new breed of brews, many American craft breweries count among their profiles brews that include IPAs with enormous yet dynamic hop profiles, barrel-aged stouts and porters, and other proprietary styles that have helped spur an American beer-brewing renaissance of sorts. As beer enthusiasts the world over continue to develop their palates, we offer a selection of our favorite American craft breweries, along with some suggested suds, to help these budding buffs become true brew connoisseurs.
