Embraer Phenom 100 Executive Jet Now Available with Motorsport-Inspired Cabin

The Embraer Phenom 100 executive jet can now take to the air with a new head-turning trim, the Phenom ACE enhancement package. Available to current owners, the Aircraft Customization by Embraer (ACE) upgrade features a bespoke motorsport-inspired motif, inside and out, that includes race-like badging, a sports car–styled interior, and increased performance due to weight reduction.

“Our customers are mavericks,” explains Embraer’s vice president of interior design, Jay Beever. “Most Phenom owners have created a successful business, learned aviation, and then bought their own jet to fly. We wanted to celebrate their amazing lifestyle, one that often involves fast cars and airplanes alike, with design elements that complement it.”

For starters, the exterior is embellished with a new tailored paint-and-graphics treatment reflective of a vintage fighter or racer. It includes a number of the client’s choosing (retired after selection) located on the left wing and under the cockpit window. Within the cabin, the interior design showcases an artistic approach to functionality. “Our emphasis was on exposing the structure,” says Beever. “After all, the Eiffel Tower didn’t need a dress.”

For example, the sporty leather seats (with diamond-quilted stitching) offer generous glimpses of their carbon-fiber shrouds. And the cabinetry, featuring 3-D–printed drawer faces, also gives hint of its carbon-fiber framework. But the creative lack of covering lightens more than just the aesthetic.

“I can say with confidence that we have saved close to 80 pounds on the interior, which relates to the potential for accelerated climbing and increased range,” says Beever. “Most importantly, it gives people more room for golf bags or anything else they would rather not have to pack away.”

The ACE enhancement package is available now for existing Phenom 100s. And to make the retrofit even more irresistible, owners will also receive a vertical-striped leather flight jacket (with Hermès lining) fashioned after one worn by none other than Steve McQueen. (embraerexecutivejets.com)
