The original Premier I, certified by the FAA in 2001, was the first business jet with an all-carbon-fiber fuselage. The composite construction resists fatigue and corrosion, and also allows for a thinner skin, so internal space increases without adding to external bulk. The IA model, certified in 2005, upgrades the cabin to take advantage of that spaciousness, minimizing obstructions and clutter to create a bright and elegant ambience. The upgrades also extend to the cockpit, where a third screen expands the Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics display. The swept-wing design and drag-reducing fuselage help boost the cruise speed.
