Legend “Smart” Cub Goes for Glass

American Legend’s popular version of the classic Cub retains all the romance of the original, with the bright yellow paint scheme and a simple but elegant design. Classic, however, doesn’t have to mean outdated: Pilots now can choose to outfit their Cub cockpit with the latest in computerized avionics. The new Garmin instrument panel features a multifunction screen that can display detailed electronic charts and real-time weather. Engine data also are displayed digitally on a separate unit. The sporty two-seat Legend Cub is classified as a light sport aircraft. Pricing for the glass-panel model starts at around $113,000. (903.885.7000, www.legend.aero)
