Triumph’s Classic Bonneville Gets a Dose of Modernity

Triumph celebrates the 50th anniversary of its iconic Bonneville motorcycle this year, and the quintessential naked bike looks as classic as ever. But despite its timeless styling cues, the Bonnie receives one crucial upgrade that propels it into the 21st century: fuel injection. Cloaked to look like a traditional carburetor, the fuel injector produces more horsepower and fuel efficiency while yielding five times cleaner emissions.

The bike’s repositioned handlebar and lower, scooped seat also make it more accommodating to newbies, while a smaller front wheel enhances maneuverability. We toured New Orleans on the mild-mannered Bonneville and found its old-world charm well suited to the Big Easy’s backdrop; James Dean and Steve McQueen would certainly approve. Prices start at $7,299. (www.triumph.co.uk/usa)
