With its 180-foot Mia Elise, New Orleans–based Trinity Yachts has fired a shot across the bow of the European builders who traditionally have dominated the market for oceangoing luxury yachts. The fifth Trinity boat to carry the name Mia Elise for the same client, it has the largest full-displacement steel hull built in North America over the past 70 years.
The yacht, which has been fitted with an aluminum superstructure, has a beam of 33 feet and interior dimensions that allow for an expansive design by Dee Robinson. An elevator and numerous exterior and interior stairways provide convenient access to each of the boat’s five levels.
The yacht can accommodate as many as 12 guests in six staterooms and 14 crew members in seven cabins. The guest quarters include a full-beam master suite, a full-beam VIP suite, three staterooms with king-size beds, and one double. The yacht affords sweeping views from every level, and it has large dining tables on the main deck and sundeck. The owner commissioned Mia Elise with the intention of chartering it; prices start at about $325,000 per week.
