Candyscape, a 147-foot yacht built in 1994 by Benetti and now moored in Monaco, serves as an extravagant showcase for the style sense of its new owner, the London interior design firm Candy & Candy. During the boat’s refitting in early 2005, the designers collaborated with the Monte Carlo Art Gallery, as evidenced by the Dali hanging in the main salon and the Richard Hudson sculpture in the atrium.
With such amenities as a cinema room and a roulette wheel hidden on the underside of a mahogany dining table, Candyscape promises to keep its guests entertained. Passengers also may be amused by the bathroom that resembles a vintage Louis Vuitton trunk. Other design flourishes include gold and platinum leaf ceilings; handpainted, silk-upholstered furniture; and an atrium design that incorporates black embossed crocodile skin. An owner’s stateroom on the main deck and five cabins below provide accommodations for as many as 12 guests.
