Seen in the film Casino Royale, James Bond’s 54-foot yacht Soufrière is now for sale—the ideal toy for someone with the secret agent’s sensibilities and fine sense of adventure. Handmade specifically for the movie in 2005 by British boatbuilder Spirit Yachts, the classically styled craft carried 007 and Vesper Lynd (played by Daniel Craig and Eva Green) on a romantic odyssey in Venice and became the first sailing yacht to navigate up the Grand Canal in 300 years.
Dressed with a mahogany topside and a teak deck, the bespoke beauty is at home both racing (recently winning the ladies’ Round the Isle portion of the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge regatta) or casually cruising in a style author Ian Fleming would approve. The belowdecks houses a galley and saloon along with a double owner’s cabin toward the bow and another double cabin aft, both en suite, that fit comfortably within the 11-foot beam.
After a decade of maritime missions, the dreamboat has returned to Spirit, receiving new paint and a renovated cap rail, preparing for competitive action once more—with a complete re-varnish of the vessel scheduled for later this year. But unlike Bond’s short-lived and ill-fated romance with Vesper, Soufrière is available for a lasting relationship at a price that could exceed $925,250. (spirityachts.com)
