The Redesigned Audi TT Is Better than Ever

The curvaceous Audi TT turns up the sport quotient with a refreshed look, better performance, and more technology in the cabin. Available as a coupe ($42,900) or a roadster ($46,400), the TT has been given an exterior redesign that includes a new single-frame front grille, LED headlights and taillights, and an adaptive rear spoiler that adjusts electronically for maximum downforce at higher speeds.

Powering the TT coupe and convertible is a turbocharged, 2-liter, 4-cylinder engine that produces 220 hp, a bump up from the previous model’s 211 hp. As before, the only transmission choice is a 6-speed, dual-clutch transmission.

The TTS (from $51,900) comes in coupe form only and is distinguished by its more aggressive front face, prominent side sills, unique side-mirror housings, quad exhaust outlets, and Audi Sport 19-inch wheels. Under the hood is a more powerful version of the TT’s 4-cylinder that generates 292 hp and 280 ft lbs of torque, with a zero-to-60 mph time of 4.6 seconds on its way to an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive and adaptive magnetic ride suspension come standard.

Inside, the cabin has been updated with aluminum trim and a flat-bottomed sport steering wheel with paddle shifters. Seats are mounted lower to help driver and passenger feel more connected to the road. Traditional gauges are replaced with a configurable thin-film transistor (TTF) screen, and controls for the climate system are now integrated directly into the vents. (audiusa.com)
