The Track-Only Aston Martin Vulcan Supercar Is the Most Powerful Production Aston Ever
Aston Martin debuted its new limited-edition, track-only Vulcan supercar at the recent Geneva International Motor Show. With an all-carbon-fiber monocoque and body and motorsport-inspired lines, the Vulcan’s design language may signal what is to come for Aston Martin’s next road-ready supercar (and the potential successor to the $2 million Aston Martin One-77). The British carmaker says the Vulcan’s 7-liter V-12 engine will deliver more than 800 hp to the rear wheels, making it the company’s most powerful production car to date. The few owners able to acquire the Vulcan—for about $2.3 million apiece—will be able to tame all that power and tailor their track experience through a range of detailed performance adjustments.
The Vulcan’s global release will be limited to just 24 examples, which customers can purchase through Aston Martin’s VIP sales program. Those privileged owners will have the opportunity to participate in a comprehensive track-training program before taking delivery of their cars. Trained by experienced racers, including the Le Mans–winning Darren Turner, Vulcan owners will be able to perfect their driving technique through a series of instructional driving events using high-performance Aston Martin models like the V12 Vantage S and Vantage GT4 racecar, building up to experiencing the full performance potential of the Vulcan.
Aston Martin will release more details and performance data closer to the vehicle’s track debut later this year, but according to the company, the Vulcan promises a genuinely custom-fit driving experience, making it possibly the most intense and exhilarating Aston Martin ever.
