The Best of the Best 2003: Helicopters - Agusta A109E Power

<< Back to Robb Report, June 2003

An abundance of storage space and long-range capabilities make the Agusta A109E Power the perfect helicopter for heavy-duty flights such as hauling equipment or shuttling family members and gear to an adventure outing. The helicopter, which can carry approximately 2,500 pounds of passenger and equipment weight, features two baggage compartments, including a 33.5-cu-ft main storage berth. The six-passenger A109E costs approximately $4 million and can be equipped with either Pratt & Whitney PW 206C or Turbomeca Arriel 2K1 engines. Both packages give the helicopter a maximum speed of 177 mph and a 600-mile range, which is better than that of nearly every other helicopter on the market.
