The Best of the Best 2003: Home Automation - ReQuest Multimedia’s ARQ Tera Zone 750

<< Back to Robb Report, June 2003

Managing music made easy—that is the idea behind ReQuest Multimedia’s ARQ Tera Zone 750 ($20,000) music server and touchpad controller. The music library stores and organizes as many as 2,700 CDs worth of audio without degrading the quality and can be sorted by artist, song, album, or genre. The ARQ Tera Zone 750’s distinguishing feature is its ability to synchronize the music collection via the Internet across multiple properties, including yachts. The ARQ hardware even operates with existing touchpad controls if any of the remote locations are equipped with other audio management systems.

The 750 comes preloaded with a database of 750,000 titles, and you can update the list from the Internet as new music is added. Connect the server to a TV or a PC and you can browse the collection and build playlists.
