AB Yachts’ Flagship Hits the Water

The Italian shipyard Fipa Group, producer of AB Yachts, specializes in open-style, water-jet-powered yachts, and the AB 140 is the most recent example of the brand’s flagship. The AB 140 is capable of a reported 46-knot maximum speed, thanks to triple MTU diesel engines coupled to water jets. And instead of housing a typical tender, the transom garage of this AB 140 houses a car. (A typical tender is of course an option.) The 140-foot yacht has a draft of less than 4 feet, so owners can easily harbor-hop around the Bahamas and other shallow-water locales. Come sundown, guests can take in the views from the fold-down terrace off the AB 140’s master suite. The yacht accommodates as many as 10 guests in a master cabin, twin cabins and VIP staterooms, and features a sauna and gym. (www.fipagroup.com
