Fast and fashionable, the Australian-built semiopen Warren S87 offers a true cruising experience in exchange for the loss of a few sun pads. The $5.9 million boat’s design includes distinctly formal main-deck living and dining areas near the helm, and—unlike anything in her class—a more casual lower salon that opens to a sleek, loft-style galley amidships. Black granite counters and bands of polished metal offset rich, gloss-finished madrone and Queensland maple cabinetry. The furniture is large and cushy, and the carpeted rooms are free of vibration and noise.

Large, oval ports and a skylight bathe the lower interior in natural light, and a sliding roof over the dining table allows instant alfresco living. Three- or four-stateroom layouts are possible, with berths for two or three crew members. Standard 1,300 hp MAN engines deliver 39 mph, but racier propulsion packages are available. Warren plans a limited production run of these fiberglass cruisers exclusively for the U.S. market.
