The Gift:

❄ A private charter of Silversea Cruises’ new 295-suite Silver Muse for a weeklong voyage through the Mediterranean.
❄ $2.695 million

Anchored among the cruise ships that converge in the Mediterranean every summer, a Silversea vessel can seem quaint by comparison. The relatively discreet size of the Italian brand’s boats, none of which exceeds 270 staterooms, enables access to smaller, less-crowded ports of call and translates to a level of service and intimacy unattainable on 4,000-passenger megaships. For the ultimate sense of Silversea exclusivity—indeed, of having a boat all to yourself—the family-owned cruise line is offering one Robb Report reader the opportunity to charter its future flagship for a weeklong private journey through the Mediterranean.

Silver Muse, as the line’s latest and greatest ship will be christened, is sure to make a splash when it launches in the spring of 2017. With 295 suites, it will be Silversea’s largest ship but also its most refined. Specific details are yet to be revealed, but the boat will house eight restaurants, which the company claims is more than any other ultra-luxury vessel. Every suite on the ship will have an ocean-view veranda, and a number will be interconnected to accommodate families and other large groups. Silver Muse will also feature more premier-level suites and outdoor spaces (including three open-air restaurants and lounges) than any other Silversea ship.

For this private cruise, which is scheduled for August 1 through 8, 2017, the recipient can limit the guest list to family and close friends—or invite as many as 595 acquaintances. Silversea suggests an itinerary that begins and ends in Monaco, with stops along the way in Cannes, Barcelona, the Balearic island of Majorca, Marseilles, and Saint-Tropez. Ports of call can be customized to accommodate the recipient’s preferences, as can the various land excursions and other activities at each destination.

The experience aboard Silver Muse will also conform to the tastes of the recipient, who can request everything from customized menus featuring favorite dishes to signature cocktails to special entertainment options. Onboard dining, beverages, and entertainment are all included in the charter price, as are butler service and—for those moments when you really do want a place all to yourself—24-hour room service for every suite.
