Frauscher 717 GT

The Frauscher 717 GT evokes the styling of gentlemen’s runabouts of the late 1920s, when Frauscher first opened its shipyard on the banks of Austria’s Lake Traunsee. But the vessel, which launched in October, 2010, also displays the Austrian builder’s current penchant for performance. A shaft-propulsion system helps push the boat to a top speed of 55 knots, while the V-shaped hull and centrally located motor keep the 23.5-foot racer balanced and smooth. Endowed with a standard 250 hp engine, the 717 GT costs around $105,000; it can be equipped with a hybrid engine for an additional $40,000.
