Wally Yachts’s 110-Foot Barong D Is Big on Cutting-Edge Tech
Barong D—the new 110-foot beauty built by Wally Yachts—launched in April during a private ceremony. Commissioned by a repeat client who wanted to replace his older Wally model, the featherweight yacht displaces only 65 tons when at sea—two tons less than expected. Designed by Frers Naval Architecture & Engineering, the yacht sports a midnight blue hull and a classically designed exterior.
Barong D showcases Wally Yachts’s latest cutting-edge technologies, including a sail handling system with a self-tacking jib and a specialized submarine anchor. Constructed using prepreg carbon material, the ship also features an advanced electrical system with lightweight switchboards and cables and a powerful hydraulic system.
Accommodating up to six guests and four crewmembers, the cruising yacht features a spacious sunbathing area and plenty of room for outdoor entertaining. Carefully tailored to meet the client’s custom requests, the owner’s suite features two separate beds and a spacious main saloon with a table that can seat up to 10 people. Interior design elements include pickled oak walls and dark blue upholstery. The yacht is scheduled to be delivered at the end of May after a two-week sea trial period. (wally.com)
